Product Description

pH filter Neutralising/ remineralising cartridge installation kit.

The 100% Calcite cartridge or 50% Calcite 50% Corosex pH correcting and remineralising cartridges (are the same size inline cartridges) can easily be adapted to connect into 1/4" tubing usually between the RO storage tank and the final carbon filter (install so that flow indicator arrow points towards the final carbon filter).

To modify your existing filter system to include a pH correcting / remineralising cartridge you'll require the following parts:

  1. 2 x 2" mounting clips,
  2. 2 x stainless steel screws,
  3. 1 x roll of Teflon thread tape and
  4. 2 x 1/4" thread x 1/4" tube John Guest end connectors.

You will need the following tool to install the kit correctly.

  1. Phillips head/ Star #2 size screw driver or cordless drill with screw driver bit,
  2. Sharp knife or tube cutting tool to cut 1/4" tubing straight for a perfect fit, and
  3. 17 mm spanner

This installation kit is only required when first installing the remineralising filter cartridge as parts are easily removed and refitted onto new filter cartridges every 6 to 12 months or whenever a filter change is conducted.

HOW TO LOOK AFTER YOUR INSTALLATION KIT - Remove old thread tape before reapplying new tap, wrap tape onto thread in a clockwise direction and avoid getting tape over the opening of the fitting. Be sure to use between 6 and 8 wraps of white thread tape on each fitting for a correct fit (less wraps if using a thicker tape such as pink or yellow gas thread tape). Hand screw fitting straight into female port of new filter cartridge avoiding cross threading of fitting. Once 2-3 turns are completed by hand, then use a 17mm spanner to tighten. Correct removal and installation of these plastic fittings will ensure many years of reuse. Incorrect removal or installation will result in damage to the fitting which will lead to leakages and the need for replacement of parts.
