MATRIKX + Pb1 20" x 4.5" Jumbo activated carbon block filter cartridge

The MATRIKX + Pb1 20" x 4.5" extruded activated carbon block provides a high level of water quality in situations where a high flow rate is required.

The Matrikx + Pb1 also provides protection from deadly metals such as lead, chlorine removal as well as protection from cysts such as Cryptosporidium and Giardia.

Ideally suited to whole house filtration in new houses where lead from new pipes may be an issue.

Due to its Jumbo size it can still provide around 23-25 LPM of effective filtration. Higher flow rates will reduce the filters performance in removing chemicals such as chlorine from the water.

The ideal configuration for a whole house is to use a twin Jumbo system with 1 micron sediment pre-filtration and the MATRIKX 0.5 micron carbon block. Failing to protect the 0.5 micron block from sediments may see an early exhaustion of the carbon block as sediments may coat the outer surface of the block and limit the flow of water through it. Frequently changing (6 monthly) the pre filter should help to extend the life of the preceeding carbon filter.

Servicable lifespan is around 115,000 litres. To calculate how freqently you should replace your MATRIKX 0.5 carbon block filter, simply divide 115,000 by the litres consumed daily as indicated on your water bill.
