URWater is an Ipswich/ Brisbane based family owned and operated business, providing a huge range of quality water coolers, water filtration systems and replacement filter cartridges. The majority of our sales come as a result of referrals which only ever come from good service and happy customers. So it is vital for us to maintain happy customers and a high level of service both when selling and after the sale has long past.

To be a successful business in the water industry, URWater has chosen to focus on 4 key points when choosing its product range including: Quality, Reliability, Performance and Affordability, all of which are equally as important as each other.

·         If it’s lacking quality then it’ll result in call outs that cost us time and money.
·         If it’s lacking reliability, again, we will spend time and money trying to fix problems associated with unreliable products, costing us time and money.
·         If it’s lacking performance, then the customer is going to think we don't know what we are talking about and that we've provided them with the wrong product for the job. This means they'll go elsewhere for advice and future purchases, and finally,
·         If it isn’t affordable, customers aren’t going to buy anything in the first place or if they do, they’ll be upset afterwards that they have been ripped off, which means there will be no further business or referrals from that customer.

Ignoring the above points wouldn't make good financial or ethical business sense would they?

That’s why these points are important to focus on and why URWater won’t bother with the cheap rubbish filters from China which by the way are offered to us on a weekly basis for as little as $0.30. Yes they are even cheaper if you buy a container load. Who knows what rubbish ingredients have been used to replicate an actual quality brand of water filter or filter cartridge. They do a great job of making them look the same but are they really the same? Of course not and you'd be crazy to think any different. If Chinese baby food companies putting plastic filler into baby formula is something to go by, it speaks volumes about why we choose not to sell these types of filter systems or filter cartridges.

It has me baffled why some people are willing to compromise on the quality of the filter cartridge considering they want a water filter in the first place to clean their water not pollute it further.

If despite all of this you still want a rubbish filter system or a cheap and nasty filter cartridge, you should make your way to a large hardware store or supermarket chain because we don't stock this type of product by choice. If they have a cheaper system or filter cartridge than we offer, buy it! But if you want a quality product that does exactly what you want it too combined with a high level of service both before and after the sale has been completed you should find a dedicated water filtration business that isn't just staffed with fast talking sales people. 

Price is not always but usually indicative of the quality as higher quality components cost more to wholesale and therefore are sold at a higher price which by the way should include some good service and product knowledge.

Knowledge like, there are two main types of carbon filters, Coal based (Bituminous) which is cheap and very common and then there is coconut shell carbon filters which we consider to be the premium choice. Some filter manufacturing companies such as Omnipure have made a choice to stop producing coal based carbon filters due to a detection of metals in the carbon media being supplied. That's a very responsible move which shows that they care about both their brand and their customers. Where as other companies will continue to use coal based carbon despite metal being detected in the carbon which no doubt will increase metal levels in the filtered water you are drinking.

There is also a perfectly logical explanation why sales staff in the hardware mega stores or large chain stores have very little if any quality knowledge pertaining to water filtration systems and that’s because they have 20,000 other non water related products to sell.

So just remember, when you buy a cooler, filter or filter system from a dedicated water filtration business you’re not only buying the product, you’re buying professional advice and service from someone who hopefully knows what they are talking about. In saying that, there are a number of exceptions where water businesses simply employ sales staff who have very limited if any actual knowledge of water filtration but have good sales skills or employ dirty sales tactics to close a sale. It is at times embarrassing to be associated with the industry when cowboys take advantage of people and use false information and claims to push a range of products.
